Cooperating Teacher (Paraprofessional)

Almaty International School is hiring Cooperating Teacher (Paraprofessional)

Paraprofessionals are assigned to various teachers who will supervise their work. The Director of Instruction will help coordinate the paraprofessional's involvement in the classroom.

- Instructional Tasks

to help assist the teacher in working with small groups. Working with small groups of students will mean but not limited to reviewing material taught, listening to students read, assist students in their tasks, and help to clarify ideas for students. It is essential that paraprofessionals work with students to help them learn.

- Supervision

to supervise the safety of children in the classroom, in the hallway, on the playground, in the cafeteria, and in special classes. Keeping children safe is an essential skill of paraprofessionals. Examples but not limited to supervising students during lunch and recess, understanding what to do in an emergency, etc.

- Clerical Tasks

to help the teacher to prepare for their lessons. This also includes but not limited to filing, record keeping, checking student work, assisting with library tasks, etc.

- Other duties

Proficiency in English is required.
