Lead Petroleum Engineer

Duties:

• Petroleum Engineer reports to the RMG Staff Production Engineering Team Supervisor.
• Performs routine engineering duties to gain experience and familiarization with methods/ practices and to develop professional work knowledge and abilities.
• The duties of this position include:
• Production, sour gas injection (SGI) and waste water disposal (WWD) wells performance monitoring and analysis, identification underperforming wells and production optimization opportunities, reservoir/well surveilance and well testing data analysis, interpretation and report out for internal/external stakeholders including relevant regulatory bodies.
• Populates and maintain RMG Production Engineering databases. Facilitates well reliability and optimization (WRO) sub-processes. Assists in the preparation of drilling, workover and stimulation procedures.
• Conducts comprehensive engineering studies. Participates in engineering studies and represents RMG at technical meetings, as required.

• Follows process safety management guidelines as established by TCO and industry.
• Supports the TCO way in protecting people and the environment. Reinforces compliance with all industry and TCO safety instructions. Supports the Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Hazardous operations (HAZOP) processes: reviews and approves proposed changes.

Required:

• Republic of Kazakhstan Citizenship.
• Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering (GPA not lower than 3.0 on 4.0 scale).
• Applicable experience in oil and gas industry up to 10 years, fluent level of Kazakh, Russian, Upper-Intermediate English skills languages written and verbal, Computer Skills in MS Office.

Preferred:

• Special petroleum engineering software knowledge (IPM, GAP, Prosper, Kappa Toolkit), knowledge of programming languages (Python, Pandas, etc.), data visualization tools (Power BI)

Highly desirable:

• MS Degree in Petroleum Engineering. Demonstrated commitment to safety, knowledge and experience in Field / Plant /Process Operation in Oil and Gas industry.
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaniously.
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a Team environment.
• Demonstrated skills and history of creating positive change.
• Familiarity with Oil and Gas Industry Safety-in-Design (SID) guidelines.
