Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on a major oil & gas construction project in Tengiz. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with international and Kazakhstan standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, and Kazakhstan standards.
• Provide technical support to construction and maintenance teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare progress reports, inspection records, and documentation for handover.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of works.
• Enforce safety regulations and promote safe working practices in all activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage systems.
• Experience with hazardous area electrical equipment (ATEX/IECEx).
• Familiarity with Kazakhstan labor laws and industrial safety requirements is an advantage.
• Proficiency in English and Russian (Kazakh is an advantage).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong ability to make technical and price estimations, calculation of electrical scope.
