De Montfort University Kazakhstan (DMUK) is the first British university branch campus in Kazakhstan, licensed to deliver UK‑accredited degrees awarded by De Montfort University Leicester.

The Academic Affairs Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high-quality academic programmes at DMUK in partnership with De Montfort University Leicester (DMUL) and NCUK. The role ensures the smooth administration of academic services, coordination of academic policies and procedures, and serves as the key liaison for academic collaboration with DMUL and NCUK. The officer is responsible for providing administrative and academic support to faculty and students, supporting academic integrity, compliance, and programme management

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Academic Partnerships & Compliance – Coordinate with DMU Leicester and NCUK, ensuring programmes, documents and communications meet all quality and regulatory timelines.

  • Own Academic Data & Systems – Maintain SIS (Academia), VLE (LearningZone) and NCUK platforms, keeping enrolments, assessments and course records accurate and up to date.

  • Manage Governance & Audits – Prepare documentation for Programme/Assessment/Progression Boards and support internal / external audits and accreditations.

  • Control Calendars & Timetables – Build academic calendars, exam schedules and module timetables, clearly communicating key dates to students and staff.

  • Provide Student & Faculty Support – Act as the main contact for academic queries, induction, advising referrals and performance reporting for students and teaching staff.

Expected qualifications and skills:
  • Education & Quality – Bachelor’s/Master’s in Education Management, Information Systems or Business; hands‑on with UK QA frameworks (QAA / NCUK) and Kazakhstan Ministry of Science & Higher Education rules.

  • Systems Ownership – 3 + years running a Student Information System (e.g., Academia) and VLE; strong Excel pivots, trilingual data reporting (ENG/KAZ / RUS).

  • Governance & Audit – Proven ability to compile Board packs, accreditation files and audit evidence on schedule, with zero data errors.

  • Timetables & Calendars – Experience building academic calendars, exam schedules and module timetables for 1 000 + students; clear communicator in Kazakh, Russian and English.

  • Student‑Faculty Support – Front‑line service for academic queries, induction and progress reporting; diplomatic, client‑focused, comfortable juggling DMU Leicester, NCUK and local stakeholders.

Conditions:

  • Contract: open‑ended under the Kazakhstan Labour Code, with a 3‑month probation period.

  • Working hours: 40 h, Monday–Friday, on‑site at the Almaty campus.

  • Leave: 28 calendar days of paid annual leave, plus all Kazakhstan public holidays.
