Position Overview: 

The IT Support Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing robust IT strategies that support academic delivery, administrative efficiency, and student success. This role will oversee IT operations, including infrastructure management, user support, cybersecurity, systems integration, and vendor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

1) IT Strategy & Leadership

Develop and implement IT strategies that support the university’s academic and operational goals. Ensure the IT infrastructure scales with institutional growth.

2) Team & Service Management

Supervise the IT support team, ensuring timely, high-quality service to staff and students. Establish and monitor IT service standards.

3) Systems & Network Oversight

Manage the installation, maintenance, and security of IT systems, networks, and digital platforms across campus.

4)Cybersecurity & Data Protection

Ensure robust data security, compliance with local and international regulations, and implement disaster recovery protocols.

5) User Support & Training

Oversee end-user support services, organize training for staff and students, and foster digital literacy across the university.

6)Procurement & Vendor Management

Oversee procurement of hardware/software, manage vendor contracts, and maintain accurate asset inventory.

7) Academic Technology Support

Collaborate with academic departments to ensure digital learning tools, smart classrooms, and online systems operate efficiently.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in IT support and infrastructure management.

  • Proven experience in managing IT operations in an academic or complex organizational environment.

  • Strong knowledge of network and system administration, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and IT service management (ITSM).

  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Fluency in English is required; Kazakh and/or Russian is an advantage.
