Summary
Responsible for assisting with the planning, organizing, and developing the food and beverage services for organizations and businesses, while meeting customer expectations, food and hygiene standards and financial targets. Assist Operations Manager in providing effective oversight of the day-to-day running of the operation including staff supervision and events management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist Operations Manager in managing the food and beverage provisions and other services according the guidelines established, to negotiate additional services with customers, planning menus and services based upon customer contract requirements.
· Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed before, during and after services.
· Assist the Operations Manager in establishing guidelines to implement efficient management in each site that guarantee that operational and financial targets are met.
· Strive for continuous improvement through; monitoring the quality of the product and services provided, interacting with customers, dealing with staffing and client issues.
· Responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in all operational and administrative records and reports.
· In absence of the Catering Manager, responsible for overseeing the management of facilities, e.g. checking event bookings and allocation of resources/staff.
· Contribute to business development through planning new promotions and initiatives.
· Maintain stock levels ordering new supplies when needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies and procedures. Directly supports the Operations Manager in supervising the catering and other services to be provided; performs work of subordinates as needed.
- Responsibilities include assisting as needed in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; maintaining a safe work environment; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Ability to conduct training; ability to work with diverse populations. Must frequently travel to the projects and stay for short or long missions to guarantee the smooth operational performance.
Education and Experience
- Associates degree in business preferred, however 8 years of proven history in Catering operation and supervision may be substituted for education.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills.
- The candidate must have excellent leadership and supervisory skills. Knowledge and skills in Microsoft WORD processing and EXCEL spreadsheets, e-mail, and retrieving information from the internet.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and performance analysis.
- Good communication skills in English (Medium level as minimum)
- Position demands ability to operate with minimum supervision, work independently, appreciation for detail, ability to understand the basic functions of co-workers, to work as a member of a work team and experience in dealing effectively with customers and team and perform under stressful situations.
- Must be able travel within Kazakhstan.
