Senior Piping Designer

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for Senior Piping Designer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Responsibilities:

• Monitors compliance with design, engineering, process regulations/procedures, occupational health and safety rules, workplace sanitation and fire safety rules, requirements of environmental, sanitary and technical supervision bodies
• Ensures timely development of technical documentation (drawings, bills of materials, specifications, process diagrams)
• Participates in the development of design tasks
• Participates in basic design data gathering, resolving of technical issues on the project he is assigned to, during the entire period of engineering, construction, commissioning and reaching a projected capacity
• Ensures compliance of the designed projects and technical documentation with standards, specifications and other regulatory documents for design and construction as well as with the design task
• Should be conversant in using AutoCAD / Microstation / PDMS / CADworx software packages
• Understands detailed drawings and the required specification
• Should be able to develop Equipment Layout /piping GADs/isometrics
• Piping materials to carry out design activities within an area of a project and ensure that the technical and safety integrity of the design is maintained and that the Company and Project procedures are adhered to aware of and adhere to the Company core values, systems and processes
• Ensure that the work allocated is completed in compliance with Line Managers requirements
• Ensure that the inter-discipline aspects of the design are addressed
• The preparation of drawings and or modeling related to discipline in accordance with the agreed work scope, man-hours and schedule
• The carrying out of Single Discipline checking of Designers and CAD Operators work in accordance with the Company / Project procedures

Skills / Qualifications:

• Technical Degree (Bsc) or Higher in their Chosen Discipline
• Experience of working as a Senior in their discipline for no less than 3 Years
• Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists
• Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
• Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Experience in developing design documentation in accordance with RoK regulatory documents
• Experience on projects within EPC contract (Engineering, Supply and Construction)
