Senior Civil/Structural Designer

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for Senior Civil/Structural Designer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Responsibilities:

• Follows company procedures and established standards to prepare engineering deliverables from roughsketches
• Utilizes skills in developing graphics utilizing computer design
• Responsible for maintaining the standard of drawings produced
• Carry out full yellow line checking of Civil/Structural drawings
• Training and mentoring of less experienced Designers
• Typical work scope for the Civil/Structural group includes steel pipe-racks, and bridges, access stairs and platforms, buildings, reinforced concrete foundations and below ground structures, earthworks, roads, drainage, and occasional architectural work

Skills / Qualifications:

• Technical Degree (Bsc) or Higher in their Chosen Discipline
• Experience of working as a Senior in their discipline for no less than 3 Years
• Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists
• Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
• Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Experience in developing design documentation in accordance with RoK regulatory documents
• Experience on projects within EPC contract (Engineering, Supply and Construction)
