Service engineer

Work Objective:

Provide an unequalled on site maintenance and repair service to current and future customers. To audit prospective customer locations and produce proposals for the appropriate company service throughout each territory maintaining a professional company image to the customer. To ensure work practices are in accordance with the Company’s SHE Policies.

Main Responsibilities:

- Implementation of quality control of equipment maintenance and repair by employees of the customer and contractors, making necessary adjustments in order to achieve necessary parameters and characteristics of the equipment and systems. Alignment and adjustment of equipment and systems in accordance with technical documentation.
- Control at installation and commissioning works quality. Consulting and taking necessary measures for the Customer to comply with the rules for carrying out works established in the technical documentation.
- Data analysis, performing necessary calculations and making conclusions about operational suitability of separate parts, assemblies, mechanisms, systems. Identifying the cause of their malfunction, carrying out the required repair work.
- Participation and maintenance of technical documentation, established by the company, in process of installations, commissioning and testing works, equipment repairs, preparation of acceptance documentation, filling out and maintaining equipment databases.
- Instructing and training of operating personnel to be aware of work instructions of equipment operation.
- Assembly and start-up of equipment. Performing equipment inspections and keeping equipment in good working order.
- Periodic control of equipment operation by the Customer. Taking measures to prevent premature equipment failure. Providing necessary consultations to the Customer on the requirements for equipment safe operation.
- Taking measures to provide the Customer with the necessary technical documentation. At the customer’s request providing instructions and training for requirements and rules of the equipment safe operating to the customer’s operating personnel.
- Control over the assembly and disassembly works.
- Supervision over the welding works performed on the equipment, carried out by the customer and contractors, in order to exclude deviations from the design documentation.
- Analysis of equipment operation, making decisions on equipment operability, forecasting the timing of replacement of units and equipment parts, drawing up and keeping track of spare parts operating time and replacement schedules.
- Collection of information on sites problem equipment that is in need of process optimization in order to offer the customers new technical solutions.
- Taking measures to ensure timely replacement of spare parts, advance provision of information about the upcoming replacements to sales engineers.
- Control of the availability and consumption of spare parts for the serviced equipment, timely informing the direct management and the logistics department about changes in demand and changes in the list of spare parts.
- Resolution of technical issues, consideration of the customers’ claims and complaints, including any other assistance in resolving issues related to customer service. Investigation of accidents, work defects, equipment damages and elaboration of measures aimed at their prevention.
- Coordination with the customer regarding programs and schedules for commissioning and installation works and tests.
- Arrangement of makeready of measuring instruments, tools and equipment, carrying out work using tools and equipment, performing control by means of measuring instruments.
- Keeping statistics of the serviced equipment parameters. Keeping track of the operating equipment timing.
- Participation in inventory auditings and provision of necessary reporting.
- Interaction with all Company departments to ensure successful completion of professional tasks.
- Making proposals for improving the work related to functional professional responsibilities.

Qualifications and skills:

- Higher professional education in mining machinery and equipment, vehicles and machinery. Qualification – Engineer (Bachelor) – Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience as equipment maintenance and repair foreman, mechanical engineer, industrial engineer.
- Computer power user.
- English intermediate level (reading and translation of technical texts, spoken English).
