Junior Chemical Engineer

Responsibility:

1. Assisting in the development and preparation of chemical cleaning procedures. This may involve taking samples, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and making recommendations based on the findings.
2. Collaborating with senior engineers and other team members to design and optimize chemical cleaning processes. This includes creating process flow diagrams, specifying equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
3. Participating in on-site cleaning operations for process and pipeline systems. This involves preparing the systems for cleaning, adding chemicals or solutions, monitoring process parameters, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring adherence to established cleaning procedures.
4. Be responsible for preparing technical reports, documenting procedures, and MSDS database.
5. Ensuring compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations throughout the cleaning projects. This involves following proper safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, implementing safety measures, and properly disposing of waste materials generated during cleaning operations.
6. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Customer.
7. Involvement and contribution in design and safety reviews such as PFD reviews, P&ID reviews, HAZID/HAZOPs.

Requirements:

1. University degree or equivalent - preferably in an engineering or chemistry discipline.
2. Able to work and communicate in English language.
3. Be able to to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, adverse weather conditions or remote locations.
4. Mobility to access and inspect equipment in confined spaces or elevated areas.
5. Visual acuity to read technical diagrams and troubleshoot complex systems.
6. Hearing acuity to identify abnormal sounds or alarms in a noisy environment.
