Payroll accountant (Almaty/Astana)

What we do:

We’re looking for experienced Payroll Accountant for our Global Mobility Services (GMS) group of Tax department. GMS is focused on provision of payroll outsourcing services and tax compliance and advisory services for individuals (both KZ citizens and foreign individuals), including preparation of personal income tax returns (forms 240.00/250.00/270.00), support companies and international assignees providing consultations on individual taxation and filling obligations.

Respnsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day payroll processing for assigned projects, ensuring accurate and timely calculations. Collaborate with clients to gather relevant payroll data (timesheets and HR documentation for employment/termination/sick leave/vacation/bonus and etc.).
  • Prepare required quarterly/annual payroll tax reports (form 200.00, 641.00) and statistical reports.
  • Proactively identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues that may arise during a project.
  • Stay up-to-date with payroll laws and regulations, ensuring all payroll activities are in compliance with local labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with state revenue offices on possible tax issues.
  • Developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.
  • Continuously evaluate payroll processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices to optimize payroll procedures.

Requirements:

  • Higher education (degree preferably in economics, finance, accounting, mathematics).
  • At least 1-3 years of experience as payroll accountant in reputable Kazakhstan/international companies (Big4 or other payroll outsourcing companies).
  • Proficient 1C (8.2 or 8.3 version) user
  • In-depth knowledge of Kazakhstan legislation related to payroll calculation requirements.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (especially MS Excel).
  • English level – Intermediate or above.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
