Deloitte is seeking an Assistant Manager (Supervisor) or Manager to join the Quality & Risk Management (QRM) Independence Team

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a dynamic independence team on all matters related to client and personal independence, including but not limited to:
    • Managing the client and engagement acceptance independence monitoring and testing program; and
    • Reaching a view on independence consultations on a variety of matters in accordance with Deloitte independence policies and procedures, particularly in relation to the provision of non-assurance services to audit clients;
    • Monitoring and interpreting regulatory requirements (IESBA and PCAOB) and supporting in implementation of these requirements;
    • Any other independence questions or projects that might arise.
  • Reporting findings, progress and preliminary conclusions to Independence Team Leader and Director of Independence;
  • Project Management and supervising a team of staff to produce project deliverables;
  • Communicating effectively with others in QRM, engagement teams, and senior management as required;
  • Leading professionals in providing guidance, direction, information and sound management;
  • Developing training and guidance documents around independence for personnel.

Requirements:

  • Extremely organized and able to manage complex projects
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills with attention to details
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Advanced computer capabilities
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and motivate staff
  • Higher education: Accounting/Finance/Economics
  • English language proficiency is required
  • Professional qualification: CA, ACCA or CPA (welcome but not essential)
